Defenseman Timmy Calabrese was the Rockets player of the month for July. Timmy, who is a police officer in Bayonne, New Jersey, played on the Rockets 8 west team in the spring that only allowed 20 goals and lost in the Championship game on June 23rd. Timmy played for Hudson Catholic High School in J.C. with Shock, Pein and Ortizzo. Calabrese also played on the Rockets level 6 team and came back June 24th and helped the team win the spring championship game 7-3 over the tough Bergen Bull Dogs and Captain and Sniper Tom Laporte.
Michael Schertz, who plays as the Rockets 7 Summer team, was picked as the player of the month. Michael ended up with 5 goals and 3 assits in four games for the Rockets Team. Captain Brett Burnbaum said that Michael is the most improved skater on the team. He has unbelievable talent, is a natural scorer and is an all around great guy. Michael, age 23, came to the Rockets with 10 of his fellow Lion Ice Hockey teammates and has proven to be an asset for the Rockets 7. Schertz said to mention he was single and is taking numbers. |

The Hoboken Rockets organization consists of five teams in different levels and was started in 1991 by Roger Muller. At the moment there are 100 players in the organization who are playing in levels 3, 6, 7, 8a, 8b at the Icehouse which is located in Hackensack, New Jersey.
