Rockets News released September 1st , 2009

Congratulations to all the summer Hoboken Rocket Ice Hockey teams. Last night when were at the Ice House one of the players mentioned how that for the first time ever there was a Rockets team on all four ice surfaces. Also for the first time six out of six Rocket teams made the playoffs. Rockets 8A was the first to play on August 31st, 2009 at 7:30 pm. Rockets 5, 8W, and 8B started at 8:30 p.m..
Considering only 4 teams out of each division make the playoffs congratulations.

In an update, Rockets 8 West lost 8-2, Rockets 8B lost 9-0, but the defending Champions Rockets 8A won their game4-3. The level 5 Rockets played the Bergen Bull Dogs and the final score was 5-2. In another update Anthony Sciarra Captain of the Rockets 8A reported that his team beat the Gorilla’s for their second Championship in a row. The Rockets 8A Blue team is the Champs of the spring and summer at the Ice House in Hackensack.

The Rockets are getting ready for another winter season which will include 17 games with a possibility of a few extra playoffs games.
The winter season 2009-2010 will start  October 12th and go until March 25th, 2010.

The player fee of $399 is to be made payable to Roger J. Muller, Jr. and has to be mailed to 930 Washington Street, Hoboken, New Jersey    07030. Players must be members of USA Hockey and new players must submit a photo i.d. like license to the Icehouse Hockey office.

There is suppose to be 6-10 teams per division, with weekly stats.

Game start times are to be between 9:00 pm and 10:45 pm. All players must be 18 years old.

The Hoboken Rockets just finished their spring season and had five teams competing at the Ice House in Hackensack. One of the teams was temporarily names Muller Insurance since there were three teams in the same division. Muller Insurance went 12-0-0-0 and finally lost in the Championship game after losing their best player the night before in the semi-finals. Nick Dimoulas was hurt after hitting the boards. He was unavailable for any comments.

The Lions in level 8 West beat Muller Insurance 6-3 after trailing 3-0 the Rockets scored three quick goals to tie the game and then just could not keep up with the young Lion players who played great position. Brett Burnbaum 21 points, Adam Stave 19 points , Eri Edell 33 points, and others from the Lions were signed after the game and now will be playing with the Rockets in level 7 during the summer. GM Roger Muller, Jr., was thrilled to obtain the Lions 10 ten players and is looking forward to a strong team in the summer league which starts July 6th, 2009.

Roger Muller of Hoboken lead Muller Insurance with 29 points and was second in the league in scoring. Robert Ronconglio of Nutley had 15 points, and Mike McCabe of Bayonne 12. Timothy Ryan and Timmy Calabrese of Bayonne lead all defensemen with 6 points.

The Rockets level 4 team lead by Robert Vizard or Vizzo of Fairlawn went 8-0-1-2. They played the New York Lancers in their semi final game and lost in a shoot out. Gabe Capozzi lead the team with 21 points, Andrew McDonald, George Koutroubinis, and Bruno Bisiascchi from Hoboken all had 16 points. Peter Lamonica lead the Rocket defensemen with 18 points. Gabe Capozzi was the leading scorer of level 4.

The Rockets level 6 East came in first during the regular season with a 9-2-0-0 record and beat the Bergen Bull Dogs for the spring league Championship 7-3.

They really had only one loss since one game they forfeited because they could not field a team on a Sunday. Goalie Kyle Langowski said it one of the most satisfying wins of his long career. Beating the Bull Dogs was special since they had won 70 plus Championships over the past twenty years.

Gabe Capozzi lead the team in scoring with 28 points in only 7 games. Bruno Biasacchi was second on the team and league with 25 points. In one game Bruno recorded two open net goals from the middle of the ice and scored on back handed shots. Anthony Peros of Paramus contributed with 14 goals and 18 points. He was very happy playing for the team and in his first season winning a Championship.

Sal Rutigliano of Norwood and owner of Bernardsville Audi was the leading defenseman in scoring with 4 points and 66 years old is the oldest Rocket and Ice House player.

Sal was quoted saying he wants to play until age 70. What an amazing player he is, playing against 18 year old and helping the Rockets be the best team in the league.

Also playing on the Rocket 6 East was Lance Aligo and Matt Seckler from Hoboken, Zack Rassam from River Edge, Mike Sherman from Maywood, Marc Shock and Saverio Ortizzo from Secaucus.

The Rockets 8 East team, which is run by All Star stand out Anthony Sciarra Jr., who played for St. Peters Prep, also won the Championship last week. Anthony is one of the first Rockets to be on two Rockets teams that won Championships the same week. Besides being the Champ Anthony got to play along side his dad, Micheal Del Rosso and brother Micheal Del Rosso Jr. from Hoboken.

Leading the Rockets 8 East in scoring was Nathan Conz with 16 goals and 22 points. Anthony Sciarra had 13 goals and 21 points. They were sixth and seventh in scoring in the league. Kwan Hong with his 12 points was 17th in the league in scoring.

The Rockets 8E celebrated at the Squeeze in Weehawken last week.

Finally the Rockets 8b team with their new goalie Ken Del Santo just missed the playoffs by one point. They came in fifth place with a record of 6-4-1-0. Roger Muller, Jr. and Ben Sussman lead the team in scoring with 17 points. Chris Poggi and defensive man Peter Gordon both had 13 points. Erika Muller of Muller Insurance made it back to play two games after an injury and had 4 points. Kevin Barry of Hoboken had the honor of scoring the last goal of the regular season for the Rockets. Chiropractor Dr. Mike Kelly of Hoboken missed much of the season with a broken ankle and hopes to return in the fall and make the playoffs. Dominick Riccardi of Dumont moved up to forward and ended up with 7 points. Anthony Marciona of Hoboken contributed with 5 goals and 8 points .

The Hoboken Rockets organization consists os five teams in different levels who play at the Ice House in Hackensack, New Jersey. The Rockets Hockey team was started in 1991 but Roger J. Muller, Jr.. This spring Muller Insurance was created and at the moment is 8-0-0-0 in 8 West with Joey Kipnis playing goal. The past two games were won in the last minute of play including  6-5 and 3-2 wins. Roger Muller of Hoboken leads the team and league in scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points with Rob Ronconglio second with 8 goals and 4 assists totalling 12 points.

The level four Rockets are lead by Captain Rob Vizard or “The Viz” (Don Bosco High). They are in first place also with a record of 6-0-0-2. The leading scorer on the team and league is Gabe Capozzi with 6 goals and 9 assists for 15 points. Greg Dillion is second with 11 goals and 3 assists for 14 points. Vizard has promised a Championship this spring.

The Rockets 6 East team is 5-2 after a 4-0 start and had to forfeit a game because of a lack of a goalie. The next game they lost to the Bull Dogs 10-7 because they only had 7 skaters. Gabe Capozzi of Fairlawn,leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and 8 assists for 20 points. Bruno Biassachi, B & R of Hoboken (Hudson Catholic High), is second in scoring with 9 goals and 4 assists with 13 points and Hoboken implant Anthony Peros is third with 10 goals and 1 assist with 11 points.

The Rockets 8A lead by Captain Anthony Sciarra Jr., of Hoboken and (St. Peters High), are 5-2-1-0, in second place. Anthony leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and 6 assists for 18 points.He is fifth in the league scoring. 7th in scoring is Nathan Conz with 10 goals and 4 assists for 14 points. Korean Super Star Kwan Hong has 5 goals and 3 assists, but is starting to warm up.

Lastly the Rockets 8B team is enjoying its best season at 4-2-0-0, behind stellar goal tending of Ken Del Santo. Roger Muller is 6th in the league scoring with 8 goals and 2 assists for 10 points. 8th in the league scoring is Ben Sussman, who has 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points. Canadian Peter Gordon is second in league scoring for all defensemen with 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points. The Rockets 8B have never made the playoffs and with 5 games left they are getting ready with help from Dominic Riccardi,Chris Poggi, Chris Mindato and Kevin Barry.
